Dear
Bear Fans,
On December
5, 2001, the world learned that 3
American Special Forces members,
were killed by friendly fire, while
protecting America in Afghanistan.
Three days
later, Monsters of the Webway were
shocked and saddened to learn, that one
of the 3 killed was the Brother of
2-year-member to our club, Jarudd
Prosser. The following was the post that
we received on December 8th:
"Obviously
this (post) is not bears related. My name
is Jarudd Prosser, I have
been a member of the monster group family
for about 2 years. I'm 22 years
old and live in a small town in Southern
CA. called Frazier Park, Which
until Wednesday not many people had heard
of Frazier Park. I wanted to share my
experience with everyone in this group.
On Wednesday my
father called crying me at 11:00A.M. to
tell me that my older brother Cody (as we
call him) had been killed in action in
Afghanistan. I can't even begin to
explain the gutwrenching feelings I was
feeling. I had just lost my big brother
and (second to my father) my biggest role
model in my life.
My brother Cody
was 28 years old, he joined the Army when
he was 18. I was able to talk to Cody
about three months ago before he was
deployed. I looked at that conversation
as if it could possibly be our last. My
last words that I ever said to my brother
were, "I love you brother and I will
talk to you when you get back."
Unfortunately Cody didn't make it back.
Every day that
passes my feelings turn from sadness to
having a tremendous sense of pride for my
big brother. I'm very lucky to have grown
up with this man and very honored to
share the same last name as Cody. I can't
even begin to express my gratitude to the
many Americans that have looked me up and
called me just to tell me that Cody is a
hero in their house as well.
Cody is being
awarded the Bronze star and was accepted
to be buried in Arlington National
Commentary. Frazier Park put on a parade
today in memorial of Cody. There was a
huge turnout in our small community.
Governor Thomas Presented a flag, that
was flown over the capital on the day of
Cody's death, to my father. I truly
believe that America is coming alive with
a tremendous sense of pride and I love
it.
The last thing
I want to say is, make sure that you
express how much you care about people
that are close to you. You have to tell
them, don't just assume that they know.
When an event like this happens it really
puts things into perspective. The
material things don't really mean much,
FAMILY
IS WHERE IT IS AT.
R.I.P. Brian Cody Prosser
I love you brother and I'll see you down
the road.
Jarudd Prosser"
Brian Cody Prosser
will be laid to rest at Arlington
National Cemetery outside Washington,
D.C., on Monday, December 18th, 2001.
All of us
here at Monsters of the Webway wish to
send our heartfelt prayers, support, and
gratitude to Jarudd, and the entire
Prosser family. While Chicago Bears
football is what has brought us all
together, the realization of the bravery,
and the sacrifice that Cody Prosser gave
to Amercia, will never be forgotten. We
encourage everyone to visit the links
below, where you can learn more about an
American Hero, Brian Cody Prosser.
Warmest
Regards,
