Yo snap2punt,
Like matt said dont give up and reptition is key. its normal to struggle with your release when starting snapping, its the first step in developing your snap. My favorite snapping drill is simply getting a ball, laying on your back and work on your release by snapping the ball straight up, find a grip that works, dont worry if it doesnt feel natural, repetition can make anything feel natural. Keep a ball in your room and even just having a ball in your hands while you watch tv will help you gain a feel with the ball that can help you find your spiral, the slap drill matt talked is a great drill as well, and it'll train your hands to work in-sync so that they are both coming off the ball together, so if you notice one hand is slapping your dads hand before the other, you know that one hand is coming off to soon, another thing to keep in mind is that you want your hands to finish close together, you almost want to be wrist to wrist, another little drill you can work on without a ball is having someone sitting behind you holding a bungie cord across where your hands finish and while a simulating a snap, reach back and grab the cord with your hands, ideally you want your hands to grab the cord right next to each other this will help train your muscles to keep your wrist and hands together as you finish your release. good luck
snap often bro,
jack
